Greg Keeling, Immediate Past President, SCEME

Greg Keeling, BEng (Hons) CEng MCIBSE MIET, Environmental Performance and Technical Standards Manager at Essex County Council, has over 30 years experience in building services engineering, including design, the procurement of professional consultancy and contracting services and the management of frameworks.

Greg has worked in Essex County Council for twelve years. He was head of Building Services Engineering team responsible for the counties engineering standards and guidance and its inspection team for five years before being promoted to head the construction services team, where his remit included managing technical standards and guidance for architecture, design and engineering services for capital projects, managing consultant and contractor performance and being responsible for site based quality inspection services for construction, engineering and health and safety. He sits on the SMARTE East Framework Management Team, a regional collaborative framework set up in partnership with Hertfordshire and Suffolk County Councils to deliver construction and professional services in the Eastern region. Greg has recently moved into the Infrastructure Strategy team as the technical advisor.

Greg is a Chartered Engineer, immediate past President of the Society of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SCEME) and is currently Vice President of the Society of Chief Architects of Local Authorities (SCALA). He is a committee member of the Schools Design Group and the Natural Ventilation Group of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and sits on the The Building Services Research and Information Association Soft Landings working party.
